JustReminisce is a place to remember, log and relive past memories. We want people to reconnect with their past in a safe, respectful and lawful way.
These Community Rules explain what you can and cannot post on JustReminisce. They form part of our Terms and Conditions and apply to all users, groups, memories, posts, comments, photos, videos, messages, profile content and uploaded material.
By using JustReminisce, you agree to follow these rules.
1. Respect other people’s privacy
You must not post private or sensitive information about another living person unless you have their permission or another lawful reason to do so.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- home addresses;
- phone numbers;
- email addresses;
- private workplace details;
- private school or family information;
- financial information;
- medical or health information;
- mental health information;
- sexuality, relationship history or intimate details;
- religion, political views or beliefs;
- criminal allegations, accusations or court-related information;
- private messages or screenshots;
- anything that could embarrass, expose, target or unfairly identify someone.
Even if something happened in the past, it may still affect someone today. Please think carefully before posting memories about other people.
2. Memories should be respectful, not harmful
Memories can be personal and subjective, but they must not be used to harm, shame, bully, harass or target anyone.
You must not post content that:
- attacks or humiliates another person;
- encourages others to target someone;
- spreads rumours or allegations;
- presents disputed memories as proven facts;
- is threatening, abusive or intimidating;
- is hateful, discriminatory or degrading;
- is written to damage someone’s reputation;
- reveals something private that the person would not reasonably expect to be shared.
If a memory involves another person, write it in a fair and respectful way.
3. Be careful when naming people
You may refer to people you knew, but you should avoid adding unnecessary identifying details.
Before posting someone’s name, nickname, school, workplace, location or old group connection, ask yourself:
- Could this identify someone who has not joined JustReminisce?
- Could this embarrass or upset them?
- Would I be comfortable if someone posted similar information about me?
- Is this detail actually needed for the memory?
Where possible, use first names, initials, general descriptions or less specific wording.
4. Photos and videos of other people
Only upload photos or videos if you have the right to share them.
You must not upload:
- private photos or videos without permission;
- images taken in private settings where people would not expect them to be shared;
- embarrassing, intimate or sensitive images;
- images of children unless you are the parent/guardian or have clear permission;
- images that reveal someone’s location, home, school, workplace or private life;
- edited images intended to mock, deceive or harm someone.
If someone asks for a photo or video of them to be removed, we may remove or restrict it while we review the issue.
5. Children and young people
Do not post personal information about children or young people unless you are their parent/guardian or have appropriate permission.
You must not post:
- a child’s full name with location details;
- school, nursery or childcare information;
- medical, behavioural or family information;
- private photos or videos;
- anything that could put a child at risk or embarrass them later.
We may remove content involving children more quickly and with less notice if we believe there is a privacy, safeguarding or safety concern.
6. Private and hidden groups are not fully confidential
Private and hidden groups reduce visibility, but they do not make content completely confidential.
Group members may still be able to copy, screenshot, download, describe or share content outside JustReminisce.
Do not post anything in any group that you would not want to be seen outside that group.
7. Do not post illegal or dangerous content
You must not post, upload, share or encourage:
- threats of violence;
- harassment or stalking;
- hate speech;
- fraud or scams;
- sexual content involving children;
- intimate images shared without consent;
- content encouraging self-harm or suicide;
- instructions for criminal activity;
- unlawful discrimination;
- malware, phishing or attempts to access other users’ accounts.
We may remove content, restrict accounts, report serious matters to relevant authorities, or preserve evidence where legally required.
8. Accuracy and disputed memories
JustReminisce is based on personal memories, and memories can be imperfect.
You must not knowingly post false information about another person.
If another person disputes a memory, photo, video, name, tag, comment or description, we may:
- hide the content while reviewing it;
- ask the poster to edit or remove it;
- remove identifying details;
- restrict visibility;
- delete the content;
- suspend or restrict the account if needed.
We do not guarantee that memories posted by users are accurate, complete or verified.
9. No bullying, revenge posting or naming and shaming
JustReminisce must not be used to settle old arguments, expose people, shame people, mock people or encourage others to contact or target someone.
This includes content about:
- former classmates;
- former partners;
- former colleagues;
- old friendship groups;
- family disputes;
- people who are not members of JustReminisce.
If your post is mainly designed to hurt someone, do not post it.
10. Do not share someone else’s private messages
You must not post private messages, screenshots, emails, letters, chat logs or personal communications involving another person unless you have permission or a lawful reason.
This applies even if you were part of the conversation.
11. Copyright and ownership
Only upload content you own or have permission to use.
Do not upload:
- photos taken by someone else without permission;
- copyrighted images, videos, music or documents;
- content copied from other websites;
- watermarked or commercial content unless you have rights to use it.
If we receive a copyright complaint, we may remove or restrict the content.
12. Reporting content
If you see content that concerns you, please use the “Report” button or contact us at:
You can report content for reasons including:
- privacy concern;
- personal data shared without permission;
- photo or video of you;
- information about a child;
- bullying or harassment;
- false or harmful allegation;
- copyright issue;
- safety concern;
- other concern.
Please include enough information to help us find and review the content, such as the page, group, username, memory title, screenshot or URL where possible.
13. What happens after a report
When we receive a report, we may review the content and take action where appropriate.
Depending on the situation, we may:
- remove the content;
- hide it temporarily;
- restrict who can see it;
- ask the user to edit it;
- remove names or identifying details;
- suspend or restrict an account;
- keep a record of the report for safety, legal or compliance reasons.
We may act quickly where content involves children, private information, threats, harassment, sensitive personal information or serious risk.
14. Repeated rule breaking
If a user repeatedly breaks these rules, we may limit, suspend or close their account.
We may also remove content without notice where we believe it creates legal, privacy, security, safety or reputational risk.
15. Your responsibility before posting
Before posting, ask yourself:
- Am I sharing someone else’s private information?
- Could this identify someone who has not agreed to be included?
- Could this embarrass, harm or target someone?
- Is this memory fair and respectful?
- Do I have permission to upload this photo, video or story?
- Would I be comfortable if someone posted this about me?
If in doubt, leave it out.
